A visionary leader with over 25 years of experience in community development, social work, and NGO management.
Biography
Md. Abdul Hamid is a distinguished community leader and social worker who has dedicated his life to the development and empowerment of marginalized communities in Satkhira district. Born and raised in Satkhira, he has an intimate understanding of the challenges and opportunities that exist in this region.
From an early age, Mr. Hamid demonstrated a strong commitment to social justice and community welfare. His journey in community development began in the early 1990s when he started working with local communities to address basic needs such as education, healthcare, and economic opportunities.
In 1998, recognizing the need for organized and sustainable development efforts, Mr. Hamid founded Satkhira Unnayan Sangstha (SUS) along with a group of like-minded community leaders. Under his leadership, SUS has grown from a small local initiative to one of the most respected and effective NGOs in the region.
